This Privacy Policy explains how Online Services Internet Development & Marketing, operating DokuDocs ("DokuDocs," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our estate document vault service (the "Service"). By using DokuDocs, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
We collect the following categories of information:

We use the information we collect to:
Documents you upload are stored in an account-specific, access-controlled storage location and are transmitted using encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). We do not review, read, or analyze the content of your documents except as necessary to provide the Service (for example, to display a file name, category, or preview at your request) or as required to investigate a security incident or comply with law.
Information about your designated Recipients (name, relationship, contact details) is used solely to deliver status-change notifications and grant document access according to your configured settings. We do not use Recipient contact information for marketing purposes. By adding a Recipient, you represent that you have the right to share their basic contact information with us for this purpose.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:
DokuDocs relies on third-party providers for functions including, without limitation, status verification, email delivery, payment processing, and cloud hosting. These providers have their own privacy practices, and we encourage you to review their policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites or services you may access through links provided on DokuDocs (for example, a Point of Contact professional's website, or a video link you add to your vault).
We use industry-standard safeguards including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), access logging, token-based Recipient authentication, password hashing, and restricted internal access to stored documents. Despite these measures, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. See our Terms of Service, Section 8 for additional detail on the limits of these protections.
We retain your account information and documents for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period thereafter to allow for account recovery, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If you cancel your account, we will delete or anonymize your documents and personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or necessary to complete a Recipient notification process already in progress.

Depending on your state of residence, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy law (such as the right to know, delete, or opt out of certain uses of your information). To exercise these rights, contact us using the information in Section 14.
DokuDocs is not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete it.
Because DokuDocs is designed for use after a Customer's death or incapacity, this Service necessarily involves processing a deceased or incapacitated person's information and documents in order to notify and grant access to designated Recipients. By using the Service, you acknowledge and consent to this processing as part of how DokuDocs is designed to function.
We use essential cookies and similar technologies necessary to operate the Service, such as maintaining your login session. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or trackers. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may prevent you from logging in or using parts of the Service.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice within the Service prior to the change taking effect. Your continued use of DokuDocs after the effective date of any revised policy constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
